This is a message from the faithful and true witness, the ruler of all that God has made, the beginning of the creation of God and the one who upholds all things by the power of his command – Heb1:3. The Lord said Everyone who hears this message should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.

Jesus said I know you well and find little to my liking -you are neither hot nor cold; I wish you were one or the other! But since you are merely lukewarm, I will spit you out of my mouth! “You say, ‘I am rich, with everything I want; I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that spiritually you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. This church may call their lukewarm state charity, meekness, moderation, and a largeness of soul; it is nauseous to Christ and makes those so that allow themselves in it. Let us look careful at the words the Lord used;

• You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You are neither here nor there. You uphold every doctrine without checking them through the eyes of the word.

• You’re stale. – No fresh revelation. The one you have is the one you got from your Pastors. Meanwhile God said in Jeremiah 23:30 “Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words everyone from his neighbour”.

• You’re stagnant. You are moving round and round but not progressing. You are like the children of Israel moving round without progressing until the rebellious generation died in the wilderness.

• You brag, ‘I’m rich, I’ve got it made, I need nothing from anyone,’ oblivious that in fact you’re a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless.

Jesus encouraged them to show that nothing is more important than living right. He said, change your hearts and lives. Specifically, he asked them to;

• Buy your gold from him, gold that’s been through the refiner’s fire. Then they’ll be rich.  There is a need to exchange the current life of luxury with something of eternal value. Give up something to get true riches from Jesus. These people were poor; Christ counsels them to buy of him gold tried in the fire, that they might be rich. He lets them know where they might have true riches and how they might have them.
• Buy your clothes from him, clothes designed in Heaven. You’ve gone around half-naked long enough. Buy clothes that are white. Then you will be able to cover your shameful nakedness. The clothes you are wearing now only cover your body and not your spirit. Clothes of righteousness is what is needed to stand before the throne of grace God. Many people are standing before the throne of grace through prayers and they are half naked because they come in their own righteousness. Isaiah 64:6 says all our righteousness’s are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. 1 Corinthians 15:34 says “awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame”.
• Finally, they need to buy medicine for your eyes from me so you can see, really see. All they can see is what they can get on earth. They can’t see God, can’t see the crown that is lay ahead of them. They were blind; they could not see their state, nor their way, nor their danger; they could not see into themselves; they could not look before them; they were blind, and yet they thought they saw; the very light that was in them was darkness, and then how great must that darkness be!

In conclusion, Jesus asked them to open the door of their hearts. He said, Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you. And you will eat with me. To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
