If you want to get more revelation from God, you need to separate yourself and come up higher with him. There is a level of revelation we cannot get into until we come up higher unto Jesus. We need to separate our self from the things of this world and completely yield to the Holy Spirit so he can reveal the mind of God to us. 1Cor2:10 says The Spirit, not content to flit around on the surface, dives into the depths of God, and brings out what God planned all along.  

Jesus did not preach the beatitudes to the crowd. He preached to his climbing companions – Matthew 5 :1-2 When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. People who do not separate themselves unto God will always hear God through another person.

Jesus said to the disciples that came to him privately to understand the meaning of the parable of the sower  “unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them”- Mark 4:11-12 (ERV)

Another key lesson from this chapter is the fact Jesus is surrounded with praise. If we want to approach the throne of grace, we need to come with praise giving thanks to him. It is a privilege to praise God. We are created for his pleasure.  The 4 living creatures and the twenty-four elders praised God 24/7 – saying Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Therefore, the scripture says in all things we must give thanks for this is the will of God for those of us in Christ Jesus – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live
