Take communion regularly to affectionately remember his death and resurrection.
Rom14:8-9 says while we live, we must live for our Master, and in death we must bring honour to him. So dead or alive we belong to our Lord. This is why Christ died and rose from death to live again-so that he could be Lord over those who have died and those who are living. Jesus is the Lord of your life now (if you will let him to be 100%) and will be in charge when you die so there is no need to worry. Angels are waiting to receive you when you die-what a great honour!
What does it mean for Jesus to be the Lord of our lives?
The first time God introduced himself as the Lord is in Ex6:2,6.
God said to Moses; I am the Lord, and
I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians (oppressors) and
I will free you from their bondage,
I will redeem and rescue you with an outstretched (vigorous, powerful) arm and with great acts of judgment [against Egypt – people who are working against you].
I will take you for My people, and
I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who redeemed you and brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians (people who are against you).
Take note of the letter “I” in the scripture above-please read 10 times for it to enter your heart. Letter “I” occurred 5 times with actions. When you think about Jesus’s death, remind yourself of this 5 things the Lord said he will do in your life.
Jesus didn’t say we should celebrate Easter (There is no such thing as Easter in the bible), the events God wants (Jews) to celebrate are clearly stated in the bible.
However, there is something Jesus said we should do to remember his death – And Jesus took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me -Luke22:19
I love Paul’s version of this instruction from Jesus;
1 Corinthians 11:24-26 (AMPC) And when He had given thanks, He broke [it] and said, Take, eat. This is My body, which is broken for you. Do this to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.
Similarly when supper was ended, He took the cup also, saying, This cup is the new covenant [ratified and established] in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink [it], to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.
For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are representing and signifying and proclaiming the fact of the Lord’s death until He comes [again].
Remember “And He died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake “- 2Cor5:15(AMP).
The Lord will refresh your soul daily. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
