Most people don’t easily admit that they are proud. However, some of the signs below will tell us whether we are proud or not. Getting rid of pride is more important than prayer because God keeps proud people at a distance but gives grace to those who humble themselves. The Lord will destroy the house of the proud-Prov15:25. 1. When we don’t say thank you – 2 Chronicles 32:25-26 (AMP) But Hezekiah did nothing [for the Lord] in return for the benefit bestowed on him, because his heart had become proud; therefore God’s wrath came on him and on Judah and Jerusalem. 26 However, Hezekiah humbled his proud heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come on them during the days of Hezekiah.
2. When our heart is harden – No regard for God or fellow human being. Exodus 9:3 5 And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the Lord had spoken by Moses. When we are not ready to let go, that is pride.
3. When we are comfortable with strife -Proverbs 28:25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the Lord shall be made fat and where there is strife there is confusion and every evil work. God cannot hear the prayer of someone who keeps malice.
4. When we don’t have a tender heart – we are not flexible and always insisting our ways – A stony heart that nothing can penetrate Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
