Abraham got just one blessing from God (The birth of Isaac) that changed many things in his life and Sarah. When Esau asked Isaac to bless him after Jacob took the blessing, he only asked for one blessing becuase he knew just one blessing could bring about a major difference in his life. And Esau said to his father, “Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me-me also, O my father!” And Esau lifted up his voice and wept -Gen27:38.
The birth of our Lord Jesus Christ (even though he wasn’t born on 25th Dec) signifies the beginning of a new thing.
I perceived something new has started in your life. God said in Isa43:19: Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.
God will give you the blessings of Isaac and this will happen in the next one year. Let’s look at the blessing associated with the birth of Isaac.
1. For Isaac to be born Abram's name had to change from exalted father to father of many nations (Gen17:5). Many nations came out of one child called Isaac (blessing)! You only need one blessing to make a major impact and not little breakthroughs. Hannah had 6 children but we only know the name of one -Samuel!. God will give you a blessing that will live after you. Get ready for a change of name that will reflect what is about to happen in your life. The patriarchs got a new name from God to perpetuate the blessing, Jacob couldn't carry the blessing until his name was changed to Isaac. God said in Isaiah 62:2 "thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name". The birth of Jesus gave us a new name "Children of God" and Jesus promised a new name for him who overcomes Rev3:12
2. The birth of Isaac restored biological strength of Sarah and extended her number of years. Sarah was past the age of child bearing and ready to die but because of Isaac, she received strength to conceive and lived more than 45years after the birth of Isaac. Where there is no hope , God will give you a good reason to live for many more years. You will receive strength to go the extra mile. Hebrews 11:11 says Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
3. The birth of Isaac removes impossibility in Sarah's life. God said to Abraham before the birth of Isaac "Is there anything too difficult for the Lord". He said to Mary before the birth of Jesus "with God all things are possible Lk1:37" God will do something for you that people will say "Only God can do that!
4. God enacted a new covenant with Abraham before Isaac was born - Abraham had Ismael for 13 years before he instituted the circumcision (a symbol of his covenant) . He said in Gen17:4 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. The seed in this verse was referring to Isaac (starting a new generation - the Jews) and prophetically our Lord Jesus (starting a new generation - the children of God). God will bless what you have now . However, he is about to do a new thing that generations after you will benefit from. God said in Isa55:3 Listen closely to what I say. Listen to me so that you will live. I will make an agreement with you that will last forever. It will be an agreement you can trust, like the one I made with David - a promise to love him and be loyal to him forever.
All these things happened with a year , I pray that between now and next December, you will come into a new revelation of the name of the Lord, your strength and what you lost in 2020 will be recovered and you will have one blessing that will make a major impact in your life and go beyond your generation.
