The Lord will teach you the right way to live, your relationship with him will give you joy and happiness.

Those that God has commanded to help you will not stress you. Infact, you will be surprise how far they will go to help you.

When you see someone going the extra mile for you, pay attention because they may be an angel sent to help you.

I know God has commanded someone to help you, what you need is an instruction!

When there was a famine in the land God told Elijah in 1Kings17 ” I have commanded a widow woman in Zarephath to sustain you”

Let’s learn some things here;
1. God helped you to get to where you are now. Just like he fed Elijah through Raven with flesh. Ravens don’t joke with flesh but God made the eagle to give it to Elijah.
2.God knows what you are going through. He knows your visa, contract will soon end. He knows about the deadline at work ,school and from the Doctor! He knows about the biological clock. Oh, he knows about the pressure from the family especially your mum. God knew the brook will soon dried up so he gave Elijah an instruction to move on.
3.God gave Elijah an INSTRUCTION. This is where we miss it. We plan things our ways rather than asking the Lord what to do. And when we ask , we want the Lord to tell us what we like or want to do.
4.God sent Elijah to a widow to feed her – Why? There was Obadiah , King’s right man who could have fed Elijah. Obadiah hid 100 prophet during famine and fed them. Also there were many widow in Israel but why did God sent Elijah to the widow of Zarephath.
5.God used the widow to reveal the spiritual gifts he has deposited in Elijah – he multiplied bread and raised the widow’s son just like Jesus did.
6.God wants you to go to where he can use you to be a blessing and not where you think they have more than enough to meet your need. Go where you will be recognised and celebrated and not where you will not be noticed.
In my next post we will critically examine why God sent Elijah to the widow of Zarephath that had just the last meal.
