Does God know you?

Does God know you?
I didn’t say “Do you know God or do you go to church? It’s one thing to claim you know someone , it’s another thing for the person to know and recognise you when you call.

The Lord spoke to me in parable today about the US elections. He said the issue is not about Biden or Trump, it is about the government in control! Of course, I know God can use anyone (including Judas ,Cyrus and a donkey) to carry out his will.

He said to me , I will save a nation with righteous people. It’s interesting he didn’t say I will save a nation with many churches or a Christian President!

Doing what is right [Righteousness] makes a nation great, but sin will bring disgrace to any [diminish a] people. Proverbs 14:34

The Lord is looking for righteous people! He then led me to Gen18 and showed something i want to share with you in this post.

Abraham interceded for Lot in this chapter but he didn’t mention Lot’s name in his prayer with God (I found that very interesting!). I think this is because God doesn’t answer prayer based on sentiments!

We need to learn how to say appropriate words when praying! Maybe we need to seriously review the kind of prayer we say to God. I know God doesn’t hear all prayers!

Abraham interceded for righteous people hoping that Lot was righteous and he would have raised at least 10 righteous people. Of course we know he didn’t because the city was destroyed – there were no 10 righteous people!

The Lord then showed me some things:

  1. What we know about people is totally different from what God thinks of them. God said this about Abraham in Gen18:19 – For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

God knew Abraham as a righteous man that trained other people to be righteous so he can complete his plan through him. God is looking for someone in every family to continue what he started in that family lineage

So what does God know about you ?

God said this about David after removing Saul as a king “ I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do” Acts13:22. He said this about Saul “I’m sorry I ever made Saul king” I pray that God will say good things about you.

He said about Jesus “This is my Son in whom I am well pleased” What will God say about you? Will he say well done , good and faithful servant when you meet him or What?

  1. The more righteous people in the land the better for all of us. God will only save our land because of righteous people and not our churches and programs. Winning souls for Christ will save you!!! Proverbs 11:30 says “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise”.

If there were 10 righteous people in Sodom, God would have saved the city. Caleb and Joshua made it to Cannan land but without their friends. How come they couldn’t influence at least 2 of the 12 Elders that spied the land. Maybe God would have saved over 600,000 that perished in the wilderness.

We need righteous people around us. Abraham fought 5 Kings with 325 servants trained in his house and won. Lot had servants who are more interested in wealth and strife -Gen13:8.

I asked myself a question- Is Lot a righteous man? Obviously he had family problems. He offered his daughters to people who came to rape the Angels – what kind of a man is that? His wife turned to a pillar of salt because she disobeyed the Angel’s instruction and looked back. His sons in law mocked him. His daughters slept with him because they thought there was no man on earth– didn’t Lot tell them about Abraham and Laban?

I hope you learn some lessons from this post. God will save a righteous nation. I pray that God will open heavens and rain righteouness upon our nations. Our concern should not be Trump or Biden , Conservative or Labour party, APC or PDP but a righteous nation.

Let’s conclude with this scripture: “The firm foundation of God has written upon it these two inscriptions: “The Lord God recognizes those who are truly his!” and, “Everyone who worships the name of the Lord Jesus must forsake wickedness!” – 2 Timothy 2:19

Flee from error, aim at and pursue righteousness (right standing with God and true goodness), godliness (which is the loving fear of God and being Christlike), faith, love, steadfastness (patience), and gentleness of heart. Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and [for which] you confessed the good confession [of faith] before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:10-12 (AMPC)
