The Lord will help you to know what you really need to know and not just what you want to know, things that are hidden from you!

He who ask questions gets an answer from the Lord.

In operational management system, there is something called “Fishbone analysis” it simply means asking right questions about how we got to this point.

The problem is we prayed about everything but we never asked questions to understand why things are the way they are.

If the Lord healed you and you don’t understand what caused the sickness, you may become sick again!

Before you divorce or enter a new relationship, reflect on why the first one didn’t work. Yes, your spouse cheated on you. The question is, how did you get into a relationship with someone who cheats? Hmm , you ignored the signals right!

I am going to tell you a story of a man who said ” If indeed the Lord is with us and he is a great God, why are things happening the way they are?”

Are you wondering why your spouse or child or parents died after all the prayers and everything done?

Why am I not married or didn’t have a child by now?

Why am I still in debt or not financially independent?

Gideon heard about great things God did for his ancestors, how God delivered them with mighty hand from powerful kings. He just couldn’t understand why they are now suffering in the hands of the ‘Midianites” less powerful people.

STOP worshiping God the way your parents did!

There are so many things we don’t know about our parents.

For example, have you asked how your name came about? You may think that is not important but when Rachel was about die because of childbirth pain (Gen35:18), she named her son “Benoni- son of suffering” but her husband changed the name to “Benjamin – favourite son’

What happened during the time of Gideon was as a result of what his parents did and not what he did- they were worshiping a fake god called “Baal”.

So Gideon grew up worshiping God like his parents.

However, Gideon was a mighty man but he didn’t know. He told the Angel of God my family is the weakest in Israel so how can you say “I am a mighty person”.

It takes an encounter with the Lord to know your real identity. Gideon lived in the shadow of his parents until God revealed his true identity to him!

I pray God will reveal his plan and purpose to you!

Maybe you are where you are today because you followed your parents blindly. You married your spouse because of them, did the degree they forced you to do , did……

PLEASE obey your parents (Biological or Spiritual) but you need to discover God for yourself!

When Gideon had an encounter with the Lord, the first things he did was to pull down the altar of “Baal” -the god of his parents.

Judges 6:25-26 says Gideon pull down the altar his father used to worship God and built the right kind of altar to worship the living God.

Until you worship God the way he wants you to worship, you may not experience him!

STOP worshiping God the way your parents did. It’s time to know the Lord personally.

Some people know everything about how to worship God, they can even tell you about how to worship God but they don’t know God personally.
