Paul said concerning Timothy – I am calling up memories of your sincere and unqualified faith (the leaning of your entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), [a faith] that first lived permanently in [the heart of] your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am [fully] persuaded, [dwells] in you also – 2Tim1:5

I was just wondering why it was not mentioned that something was passed to Timothy from his dad or grandfather. Maybe his father left all his wealth for Timothy, but it went away just like Isaac lost all that Abraham gave to him when there was a famine.
Whatever your age is, what you are working hard for may become useless even before you die if it is not part of God’s purpose for your life. Those who built property in the village will understand what I am saying because none of your kids will ever go and live in your village.
However, there is something famine, sickness, natural disaster cannot take away. There is something that overcomes the world – that is unfeigned FAITH!
Unfortunately, the degree to which this is passed on from one generation declines unless there is conscious effort to pass it on.
Let me share a story with you.
Abraham raised altar (Gen 12- 19) of worship to God regularly (I am sure you grew up in a home where morning and evening prayer was compulsory). Then you left home, and prayer becomes something you do occasionally just like Isaac. Actually, it was recorded Isaac prayed 2 times in 20 years , Gen24:63 and Gen25:21. He lost everything Abraham left for him but got it back through the “Hearing of Faith”
Fast forward Jacob, the first time he had an encountered with God, he didn’t even recognise it. The guy so smart that he didn’t even recognise the gate of heaven. He woke up from his dream in Gen28:16 and said “Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not” So his life of misery began after that. He lived for just 135years, Abraham lived for 175yrs and Isaac lived for 180 years.

So, my brothers and sister, has the degree of faith in God that was passed from your parent to you decreased and is your children family with the same faith. Now is the time to do something about it because the victory that overcomes the world is our faith.
Let’s read this scripture together – 1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
